Show Notes

Around 4,400 unidentified bodies are discovered in the United States every year, according to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System. Of these, around 1,000 remain unidentified a year after discovery.

Today, Elaine and I discuss the case of a a woman who is missing her identity, but she is alive. China Black is approximately 50 years old and has no memory of her life. She has been living in an adult foster care facility for about eight years and had previously been homeless, but other than that no one knows who she is. She thinks she might have a husband and a son, and may have lost her memory as the result of being hit by a drunk driver.

Someone out there knows who China is and can help put together the missing pieces of her life. With a little investigative work, we're confident we can find the answers that China deserves.

Please share China's photo and her story to spread the word, and if you know who China Black is, you're asked to contact the Michigan State Police. Please note that if you are a relative of China's, you will not incur any costs related to her care.
