Show Notes

If you are interested in science and/or unsolved mysteries, this is the episode for you. I am joined by my good friend and space enthusiast, Dave Ford, to discuss two interesting medical occurences and the vastness that is outer space.

In February of 1994,  a woman by the name of Gloria Ramirez was admitted to the hospital with complications stemming for her cervical cancer before she sadly passed away less than hour later. But it wasn't her cause of death that was mysterious, it was the fact that several medical personnel became ill after working with her/her body. Was it a case of mass hysteria or was there something more deadly lurking in the hospital room?

In March of 2013 a mysterious illness befell the people of the rural village of Kalachi in Kazakhstan. About a quarter of the population would suddenly fall asleep in the middle of every-day activities and stay asleep for days or even weeks at a time. What's behind the strange disease? Is it a disease at all? And why has it only impacted a single rural village in the world?

It's perhaps one of the greatest mysteries of all time--what is outer space? What is at the end of it? How did it start? What will the future of space travel look like, and will Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos colonize Mars? We cover it all, and more.

Special thanks to guest Dave Ford.
